France has confirmed plans to boost its capacity base and become a world leader in floating offshore wind, France is the first country in the world with the publication of a tender for a floating offshore wind park of 250MW site off south Brittany in 2022, which will be followed by two 250MW projects in the Mediterranean Sea in 2023.The Floating Offshore Wind Turbines (FOWT) Conference is the largest event dedicated to floating offshore wind and will be held from May 10-12, 2023, in Nantes, France. The objective of the FOWT is to further the advancement of floating wind and accelerate its implementation into the global renewable energy mix. This event is meant to promote constructive discussions between all actors and stakeholders of this emerging industry.Holland Home of Wind Energy, together with NBSO Nantes and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency, will organize a Netherlands participation incl. pop-up booth at the FOWT 2023. Technical visit to the project Sealhyfe (May 12, 2023) The French company Lhyfe has launched the Sealhyfe project in September 2022, the world’s first offshore renewable hydrogen production prototype, which will have a capacity of 1MW and will be connected to a floating wind turbine. On Friday May 12, we will visit this offshore production site by boat, followed by a network lunch. During the boat tour, experts of Lhyfe will present the project, its technical issues and installation and the different other projects the company has in Europe and the Netherlands.After the lunch, we will return to Nantes in time to catch the flight from Nantes to Amsterdam (departure 17:25).
