Launch of the 1st Annual Franco-Dutch Trade and Investment Barometer
We are proud to announce our participation in the launch of the inaugural Franco-Dutch Trade and Investment Barometer, a collaborative project led by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands alongside the Netherlands France Chamber of Commerce (NFCC), PwC Netherlands, ING, and SEO Amsterdam Economics. This initiative was unveiled in Paris as part of the 2025 France–Netherlands Economic Year, celebrating the enduring economic partnership between France and the Netherlands.
About the Barometer
The Barometer offers a comprehensive, data-driven analysis of the trade and investment relationship between our two countries. It provides:
A detailed review of bilateral economic relations in 2024, including trends in trade and foreign direct investment (FDI)
Economic forecasts for 2025 and 2026
Insights from a survey of 50 Dutch companies operating in France, highlighting their experiences, challenges, and future outlook.
Key Findings
Bilateral economic flows have grown by 28% in real terms since 2015, with trade up 25% and investment up 31%
France has been the Netherlands’ top FDI destination in three of the last four years, while French investment in the Netherlands has surged by 67% since 2015
France is now the Netherlands’ third-largest export destination, and the Netherlands is France’s eighth-largest
Two-thirds of surveyed Dutch companies in France report that their business is meeting or exceeding expectations
France is perceived as more attractive than the average of other countries on 70% of key indicators, especially in quality of life, infrastructure, and workforce skills.
Event Highlights
The launch event brought together French and Dutch business leaders, policymakers, and experts for presentations on trade and investment flows, survey results, and an economic outlook for 2025–2026. A high-level panel discussion and networking reception further fostered dialogue and new connections within the Franco-Dutch business community.
