We operate in four business areas: Upstream, Integrated Gas, Downstream and Projects & Technology.
The Upstream business manages the exploration for new oil and gas reserves and the development of major projects where our technologies and expertise add real value for resource owners.
Our Integrated Gas business includes natural gas liquefaction (LNG) and gas-to-liquids (GTL) operations for safe storage and transportation around the world.
The Downstream business is responsible for the conversion of crude oil into various refined products, which are shipped and marketed worldwide for domestic, industrial and transportation use. In addition, we produce and market petrochemicals for industries worldwide. Shell’s oil sands operations in North America are also managed by the Downstream business.
Our Projects & Technologies division is responsible for the creation of new development projects and research and development activities to enable innovative, lower-cost investments over time.
